Andrew "Wild Fox" Yamauchi is a fictional character in the Wild Cards series of books.
History[]
Born in 1987, Andrew Yamauchi became a joker when his wild card turned. His fox-like ears and tail however, were also accompanied by an ability to create illusions in the minds of others, and this trait resulted in his successful application as a contestant in the reality television show American Hero. Once on the show, his prankish nature quickly drew the ire of his fellow contestants and he was soon voted off.
Years later, Andrew became one half of the popular music act "Sylvia and the Fox" with his girlfriend the Ocelot-like Joker Sylvia Otto. After several years working Vegas, they found themselves performing aboard the steamboat "The Natchez" on its final voyage. Noticing acts of petty larceny and small time crime, Andrew took it upon himself to get involved as a part-time vigilante, with predictable bad results. After almost being killed by some vengeful crooks he had gotten kicked off the ship, Andrew then got involved with a plot to rescue a number of stowed away refugees who had fled Talas after the incidents described in High Stakes. Eventually Andrew decided to give up these more adventurous activities in order to focus on his musical career and relationship with Sylvia.

Wild Fox has fox-like ears and tail. He is able to create complex illusions in the minds of others, but these cannot be detected by electronic devices.
Appearance[]
Wild Fox is of East Asian ethnicity with reddish brown hair and black eyes. He also has fox-like ears that protrude from the sides of his head and a big bushy orange fox tail that has a reddish brown gradient.
Personality[]
Andrew enjoys playing pranks on people, especially with his ability.
Trivia[]
- Wild Fox's intro on the show, American Hero was, "Seeing isn't believing when ANDREW is around, so best not believe your eyes or your ears or your nose. Only the tail is real with WILD FOX!"
- He was the only member of Team Hearts who didn't join the Committee.
