Video is a minor character in the Wild Cards series of books.

History[]

As a sixteen year old, Video was already well known to Dr. Tachyon as one of his patients at the Jokertown Clinic. Her weaknesses made her vulnerable, but her talent to project footage that she had mentally recorded made her a valuable asset in Tachyon's war on crime syndicates during the Mafia/Twisted Fists gang war in 1987. While tougher jokers patrolled the streets and confronted the problem of extortion head on, Video aided them with her power to communicate visual and audio information.

She was also a useful asset for the Jokers for a Just Society, for whom she provided services as a lookout, and similar roles. Unbeknownst to the JJS however, she was also secretly serving the interests of Gregg Hartmann who used her to infiltrate the group in order to help protect his hidden identity as Puppetman.

Wild Card Traits[]

Video is joker, cursed with obviously abnormal eyes. And even deeper curse lies in her extreme vulnerability to the emissions of electrical appliances. In close proximity to an electrical device her nervous system with overload, and near a television her heart will stop.

Despite her drawbacks, Video gains her wild card name from her ability to project things she has seen and heard into an empty space in her vicinity. She is able to play back recent events as well as things currently happening, with both a picture and sound. She does, however, require a light source to power her projections.

Appearance[]

Video is a small, skinny person with straight brown hair. Her eyes are white and perfectly round, with visible shifting cloud-like patterns in them.
