One Croyd hires Tesla to locate them all and bring them back together. Tesla's search serves as a framing device where the people he meets have their own stories of past encounters with the Sleeper.
"Days Go By" Carrie Vaughn 1961: Croyd helps Miss Canvas find her way to a better life amidst the art scene of Greenwich Village.
"The Hit Parade" Cherie Priest 1983: Detective Leo Storgman of Fort Freak investigates a Jokertown murder where Croyd is one of the prime suspects.
"Yin-Yang Split" William F. Wu 1990: While attempting to work their way into Quinn the Eskimo's organization, Lazy Dragon finds their circumstances dramatically changed.
"Semiotics of the Strong Man" Walter Jon Williams 1999: Golden Boy encounters Croyd in Rome, where the two long-lived Wild Cards seem to make a connection. But Croyd has ulterior motives.
"Party Like It's 1999" Stephen Leigh 1999: An unfortunate transformation sends the Sleeper on a mindless rampage in Jokertown on the eve of the new millennium. It's up to Oddity to save Croyd and Jokertown's celebrations.
"The Bloody Eagle" Mary Anne Mohanraj 2003: Croyd joins Nikisha and other oppressed Jokers in their rebellion against the Sri Lankan government.
"The Boy Who Would Be Croyd" Max Gladstone 2019: Rubberband and Sparkplug search for a missing Joker student.
