Jiniri is a character in the Wild Cards series of books.
History[]
Maryam was born in Tehran and left with her family at the age of two when the Ayatollah took over. Growing up in England, she became distinctly British, much to the dismay of her traditionalist parents. At some point she joined the Order of the Silver Helix. Her ace power to increase her size at will made her a valuable asset in law enforcement operations, such as one time in South America in 2010 as part of a multi-national operation to break up a drug cartel.
Jiniri was also present at a march on Windsor Castle in 2020 where she was embedded with the security detail. Chaos broke out at the rally when the Irish joker-ace Badb became empowered by the death of a hero and started killing the gathered throng, but when Jiniri moved to intervene Badb attacked her and ripped out one of her eyes.
Wild Card Traits[]
Jiniri has the ability to increase her size at will. In her normal human size she is no different from any other slightly built woman, but when transformed into a giant over 20 feet tall she exhibits greatly enhanced strength and toughness. She also has a regenerative healing factor that can cause wounds to close in a matter of minutes.
Appearance[]
Maryam is a stunningly attractive woman with very long dark hair and brown eyes.
Personality[]
Maryam is quick-witted and engaging in social situations. A more serious and determined nature comes to the fore when she is on the job.
