Detroit Steel is a fictional character in the Wild Cards series of books.
History
Mike and his armor participated in the Rox War. He fought in the last battle by George G. Battle's ace forces. He was tasked with assaulting the Rox's Jersey alongside Reflector, and the Punk Danny body of the ace Legion. They were countered by the Jumper Zelda in the jumped body of Pulse. Detroit Steel's team was doing pretty well until Modular Man arrived to assist the Rox forces. Modular Man caused a collapse that trapped both Detroit Steel and Reflector. Governor Bloat ordered that the two aces be rescued.
The Detroit Steel armor was destroyed in the Rox War. After it was rebuilt, Detroit Steel made a guest appearance on American Hero in 2008 as a a "Bank Robber" to challenge contestants.
Wild Card Traits
Mike's ace ability allows him to build and maintain the Detroit Steel armor.
The Detroit Steel armor provides Mike with a superhuman strength and a degree of protection. The armor's enhanced strength rival that of Golden Boy. The armor is built around a car theme. Mike built it during his spare time out of scrap metal and old auto parts.

The Detroit Steel armor is 7 feet tall and about 4 feet wide at its maximum. The suit is so heavy that it sank four inches into the ground at the Brooklyn Dodger's Ebbets Field with every step. Tom Tudbury, The Great and Powerful Turtle, estimated the Detroit Steel armor's weight to be in the same weight class as his own Turtle shell - roughly 4 tons.
The chrome plated Detroit Steel armor features a single headlight on the head. A row of headlights adorn the chest.
