Dead Man’s Hand is the seventh volume in the Wild Cards shared universe fiction series edited by George R.R. Martin.

This story happens simultaneously with the 1988 Democratic National Convention, the events of which were detailed in the previous novel, Ace in the Hole. In this book the plot involves a murder mystery told from two perspectives. Both Jay Ackroyd and Yeoman are trying to track down Chrysalis’ murderer. Jokertown is also described in more detail than in previous novels, and the story introduces many new characters and places.

Book CoversEdit

The cover shown here depicts Yeoman entering a Jokertown bar (presumably Squisher's Basement) to question some jokers. The furry character in the top right is Mustelina. The art was by comic book artist Timothy Truman.

Ace in the Hole and Dead Man's Hand were originally meant to be released as a single novel, but Bantam books decided that it would be too large to release as a paperback.
