Curveball is a fictional character in the Wild Cards series of books.
History[]
Kate's wild card turned while she was trying out for her junior high school's softball team. Determined to make the team, she put all her energy into her pitch, and ended up breaking the catchers hand. She was not only banned from playing softball at her school, but from playing any other sport as well.
Wild Card Traits[]
Curveball can increase the kinetic energy of anything she throws, speeding up or slowing it down at will. She can also alter the trajectory of the thrown object and can even detonate that object, causing it to explode.
Appearance[]
Kate has a slim, athletic build and a girl-next-door look, and has blond hair.
Personality[]
Kate has a go-getter personality. She's confident, driven, and highly competitive. In the end she will do the right thing, even if it means passing up a million dollars.
