Curtis Grubbs is a minor character in the Wild Cards series of books.
History[]
Curtis Grubbs entered into an occupation as a mercenary, and at some point found himself acting as a sidekick to Usher. The pair of them were part of John Nighthawk's team to recover the Mandylion, a shroud that had reportedly covered Jesus of Nazareth, from Cattedrale di San Giovanni in Turin, Italy. When Grubbs hefted the reliquary from its resting place however, a security guard attacked and shot him through the back. As he lay dying on the floor of the church, Nighthawk approached and stopped his heart with a simple touch.
Wild Card Traits[]
Grubbs has a touch of the wild card and has some level of enhanced strength. Euphemistic descriptions suggest that he is at least twice as strong as a powerfully built ordinary man.
Appearance[]
Grubbs is a big man, topping six foot.
Personality[]
Grubbs is a little naive, and can follow orders that are given slowly in great detail. He generally acts as extra muscle for Usher and lets the larger man do most of his thinking for him.
