History[]
Before 1946, the Crensons were a typical middle-class family in New York City. In September of 1946 the wild card virus was released in New York, Claudia's father died, her mother went slowly insane with grief, and her brother Croyd became a shapeshifting ace who frequently lapsed into month-long hybernations. Claudia had to mature fast and help take care of the house, while Croyd provided money using his bizarre powers for crime.
Blond, slender, and sensitive, Claudia was the favorite relative of Croyd, and they had a close relationship. She didn't know at the time that her brother had become a criminal. In 1947, Claudia married Sam Kendall, a military man from a rich, respectable family. During the wedding ceremony, Croyd accidentally transformed into a hideous gargoyle-like monster, shocking all the guests. After that, Claudia and Croyd's relationship was damaged. Croyd eventually drifted away from his family.
