Ffodor "Blackhole" Mathias is a minor character in the Wild Cards series of books.

History[]

Mathias was contacted by Noel Mathews to participate in a bank heist with a team of several other aces. His role was to be part of the bank vault infiltration team from the outset, maintaining a neutral pull of gravity on the others so as to avoid triggering any pressure plates, and then with the gold secured he helped lighten the load to extract it from the bank. The heist began successfully until Tesseract double-crossed the group and transported them to her family's barn and into an ambush. Mathias escaped unscathed, letting Noel do the fighting, and once he, Noel, and Tesseract, were back at their planned destination it was Mathias who calmed the subsequent tension down. He chastised Tesseract for her stupidity before taking his cut and departing.

Mathias ultimately took the girl under his wing and tutored her in the criminal way of life. Following one of Mollie's more dangerous ideas he found himself running afoul of the ace known as Baba Yaga. Mollie used her power to flee, but Mathias caught by the older ace's power was killed when she warped his body into a Louis XIV chair.
