Asmodeus is a minor character in the Wild Cards series of books.

History[]

Asmodeus used his demonic appearance appearance and penchant for violence to rise through the ranks of the Demon Princes, a Jokertown street gang with a membership naming themselves after elements of Hell.

At some point he was drawn into a joker fight club which pitted jokers against each other in vicious bouts of gladiatorial combat. Again he pushed his status within the pack, and quickly attained an elevated position among the fighters. This ended when he was pitted against the Infamous Black Tongue whose own fury at Asmododeus drove him to kill the gang member.

Wild Card Traits[]

The most immediate sign of the wild card virus in Asmodeus is a ring of short horns crowning his head. Not so visible is his high tolerance against venom, apparently a by-product of his own mild venom production and enough to withstand the venomous attack of the Infamous Black Tongue. He has an even more peculiar ability to regurgitate small objects, which he typically uses to arm himself with knives, and he even claims to be able to cough up a samurai sword if necessary. The time taken to regurgitate such items is contingent on the size of the items produced and it is unclear if these are something he must somehow consume beforehand or if his body can actually fabricate them.

Appearance[]

Asmodeus looks largely like a normal young man with a touch of acne, albeit also sporting a ring of horns crowning his head.

Personality[]

Asmodeus is known to be cocky and overconfident. He has also developed a reputation as something of a philosopher among the ranks of the Demon Princes.
