Aardvark is a fictional character from the Wild Cards series of books.
History[]
Aardvark was one of many jokers who fell into Gimli's circle, attracted by Gimli's visions of a better world for jokers through any means. He would follow Gimli anywhere.
In 1987, Gimli and several of his followers, in cooperation with the German Red Army Fraction, kidnapped Senator Gregg Hartmann. When the Jokers for a Just Society (JJS) members involved tried to pick up two million in ransom money, German police tried to capture them. In the ensuing fire-fight, Aardvark was hit and carried back to the group's hideout where his injuries contributed to hostilities between the jokers and nats of the group. He succumbed to those injuries shortly thereafter, and died in Berlin.
Appearance[]
Aardvark had a long snout, making him look like his namesake. His body was covered with short beige fur.
